This is for Windows XP   PRINT THIS OUT TO FOLLOW EASILY

Defragmenting your harddrive  (Computer) shouldn't have to be done often, you should check to see if it needs to be done

about once a month Or after you've loaded a bunch of new programs.

STEP 1   Left Click On My Computer

STEP 2 Right Click on Local Disk C

STEP 3 Left Click on Tools

STEP 4 Left Click on Defragment now

STEP 5 Left Click on C Then down to Analyze Button left click on it.

This is what you'll see if you don't need to defrag

Close it if you don't need to defragment
