Application procedure
The Masters in Coaching, Consulting and Leadership in Organizations (MCCLO) is organized by the European Leadership Centre (Brussels / Istanbul) and accredited by Middlesex University, London. Candidates apply by completing the Application Package and mailing it together with CV and a recent passport photograph. After an initial paper selection, applicants may receive an invitation for an intake interview in Istanbul, based upon which the final selction for the MCCLO-programme will take place. The programme is mainly designed for participants with an academic background (BA/BSc), fluency in English and a minimum of three years work experience in (middle) management, consulting or coaching. Those candidates applying with a different background are not automatically excluded from the programme; their possibilities will be discussed in further detail in the intake interview!
Short Paper
As part of your application for entry on to MCCLO we would like you to write a paper of around 1000 words. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that you have the basis for successful participation in the programme through:
  • Setting out clearly your present experience and future aspirations for leading change within the contemporary Turkish community. We are particularly interested in how you envisage change unfolding over the next decade and the part you would like to play in this development. We are not asking for grand ambitions but rather well founded and practical possibilities, perhaps at a very local level.
  • Telling the story of your personal and professional development to date and indicating how you think this might suit you to the programme objectives and process as you currently understand these.
  • Indicating the ways in which you would like to contribute to the development of a learning and leading community of peers both through the time of the programme and beyond into a wider network of MCCLO alumni.
  • Mentioning some of the key influences in your education so far including critical books which have helped form your ideas.
Please write this assignment in personal terms, writing in the 'first person', and imagining one of the core faculty as your prime reader. Please try to enjoy this process as a first step in your MCCLO journey.
